Environmental Portrait Photography of Men at Work in the UK

"Men at Work" is an ongoing photo series exploring men in moments of focus, movement, and skill. Each is photographed while working in their own environments.

From tradesmen to artists, these portraits are designed to be observational and honest, capturing something of the person through the actions they repeat every day.

The project sits somewhere between documentary and portraiture. It's focused on gesture, tools, space and routine. It’s less about posing, more about candid shots while they're focused on the task at hand.

These are portraits of work, where the subjects are not worrying about aesthetics, this leaves more room for me to capture how I see them; no distractions.

This series is shot in natural light and with minimal staging. Each image is intended to hold detail without distraction; part study, part stillness.
